What To Expect At Your First Chiropractic Home Visit

Consultation & Health History

Dr. Lewis starts every first visit with a complimentary consultation to determine if there are any medical concerns that may affect your suitability for chiropractic care. During this one-on-one session, he will discuss your health and medical history in detail. If both you and Dr. Lewis agree that chiropractic care is appropriate for your needs, the next step will be a focused physical examination.

What Happens Next

Following the exam, Dr. Lewis will explain his findings and, when appropriate, proceed with your first treatment. He’ll also outline a personalized care plan, tailored to your goals and lifestyle, ensuring your path to recovery is both effective and efficient

🩺 What to Expect During Your Exam

Your evaluation will include a combination of standard physical, orthopedic, neurological, and chiropractic tests. None of these are intended to cause discomfort—they’re designed to gather precise information about your condition in a safe, respectful manner.
Some procedures may feel familiar, like checking your blood pressure, while others are more specific to chiropractic care—such as muscle testing and specialized neurological assessments. Each test helps identify the source of your pain or functional issue and determine whether chiropractic treatment is appropriate for you.
To ensure ease of movement during your visit, we recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing or activewear.
If additional testing is needed, Dr. Lewis may recommend further diagnostics to better understand your condition and guide appropriate care.

🧭 Treatment Prioritys and Planning

Our first objective is to reduce your pain or address a difficult issue as quickly and effectively as possible. In most cases, treatment begins during your initial visit—unless clinical “red flags” suggest that additional information or testing is needed before proceeding safely.

At the conclusion of your exam, Dr. David J. Lewis will collaborate with you to create a personalized treatment plan that reflects your needs, lifestyle, and preferences. This plan will include the most appropriate and effective therapies—whether spinal manipulation or another approach—chosen to deliver the best possible results with care and efficiency.
